Sunflower Sprint
π Overview
Sunflower Sprint is a sunny, cheerful race track winding through golden sunflower fields. Despite its friendly appearance, this map has a few tricky sections that separate casual players from pros. The key to mastering this map lies in the windmill shortcut β if you time it right, you can skip a huge portion of the track.
β οΈ Hazards: Swinging hay bales (70% mark), rotating windmill blades (40% mark), collapsing wooden fences
π Race Guide
First 30%: Straight sections with mild obstacles. Use this to build momentum and position yourself in the top 3.
30-60%: The windmill section. Jump onto the rotating blades and ride them to the upper path. This saves ~3 seconds.
60-80%: Swinging hay bales. Time your dash β don't rush, wait for the gap.
Final 20%: Open sprint to the finish. Use your dash boost here.
πΊοΈ Shortcuts
β‘ Windmill Blade Ride
Jump on the windmill blades when they're horizontal β ride to the upper platform. If you miss, you'll fall back to the main path and lose 2 seconds.
π Pro Tips
- Fox Egg's dash cooldown is invaluable here β use it to chain the windmill shortcut with the final sprint
- Bunny Egg's high jump can skip the hay bale section entirely by jumping over the fence
- Penguin Egg has no advantage here β no ice surfaces on this map
- The windmill shortcut is easiest to hit from the right side of the track
- If you miss the shortcut, don't panic β the main path is only 2 seconds slower
β‘ π» High Petal Hop
In the rotating sunflower section, skip 4 intermediate platforms by jumping from the highest petal directly to the second-to-last platform. This requires precise timing and is the most valuable shortcut on this map.
How to execute:
1. Watch the rotating sunflower for one full cycle to learn the petal pattern
2. Wait for the tallest petal to reach its peak height
3. Position yourself at the very tip of the petal for maximum distance
4. Jump at the peak, then use your double jump about halfway across
5. Aim for the left side of the second-to-last platform
β±οΈ Phase-by-Phase Guide
π’ Early Game (Phase 1)
The first section is a wide field with bounce pads and flower platforms. Focus on chaining bounce pad jumps β each bounce pad activates every 5 seconds. Plan your route to hit 3-4 bounce pads in sequence for maximum speed.
- Position: follow the bounce pad chain
- Aggression level: Low β this section is about speed, not combat
- Key resource: The purple flower on the right has an extra-high bounce
π‘ Mid Game (Phase 2)
The sunflower section is the map's defining challenge. The rotating petals require careful timing. If you miss the shortcut, you'll need to jump through all 8 petals β each one rotates at a different height and speed. The shortcut saves 5-7 seconds.
- Position: waiting for the tall petal to peak
- Aggression level: Medium β opponents are vulnerable while waiting for petals
- Key resource: Using dash mid-air can adjust your landing position
π΄ Late Game (Phase 3)
After the sunflowers, a narrow path with collapsing flowers leads to the finish. Each flower collapses 3 seconds after you land on it β never stop moving. The last flower before the finish line is a trampoline flower that launches you directly to the end.
- Position: keep moving, never stop on a collapsing flower
- Aggression level: High β push opponents off the collapsing flowers
- Key resource: Save one dash charge for the final trampoline launch
π Hazard Timing
Bounce pad cycle: Every 5 seconds
Sunflower rotation: Full cycle every 12 seconds
Collapsing flowers: 3 seconds after landing
Final trampoline: Always active
